I have very few fears in this torturous thing we call life, I enjoy facing things head on and conquering them. And if I “fail” I try again until that table has been turned over, that’s just that way it goes. But like everybody else I have things that I hate having to deal with or go through, but are pretty much just a way of life and I really can’t dodge them no matter how hard I try.
Applying for jobs is stressful enough as it is but interviews are damn near terrifying. This is where you need to sell yourself, and if you’re like me who hates talking about them self, or gloating we are in this together. But hey!! I’ve been working at it. Well being able to sell myself that is, selling yourself doesn’t necessarily mean you have to have a conversation solely based off what you do or where you have been.
A great way in selling yourself is being able to come up with solutions, solutions to pretty much anything really. This doesn’t have to necessarily be to a giant company or CEO. I’m speaking in general here, working from the ground up. Practice with friends put effort to be a tad more forward with any ideas/concepts you may have that you feel will help an issue or make a product/project better. And viola before you know it you’re the go to guy. I used to be that friend who would see a disaster waiting to happen. But I wouldn’t warn anyone that a disaster is on its way I would just kick back and watch how everything plays out. Being able to step up and speak your views on something puts trust into your hands and eventually your peers will gravitate towards you on guidance.
From there you can slowly build your confidence with the assistance of your peers, don’t get too cocky now, stay humble always. When going to deal with interviews you wont only have to talk about your resume and past work experiences. But also your life experiences, ideologies, and values this way the employer can get a better sense of you as a human and not just another number.
